Moon’s MA Collection is focused on creating a utilitarian womenswear collection, at the same time contrasting gender formalities. Her research stemmed from ideas of mass-production and homogenous culture. Looking into the idea of what makes “womenswear”, she designed a uniform that was collaged and created from traditional men’s suits and formalwear. Using simple traditional workwear shapes, this “uniform” changes through the manipulation and development of textiles. Each garment is then rendered bespoke through the use of unconventional industrial materials.

We chose Moon because of her thoughtful balance between design and craft, and for the attention to deadstock materials which resulted in a new form of exclusivity.
Coin Excelsior Award
Moon is the most promising finalist in terms of creativity and ability to successfully combine her collection to Coin Excelsior's reference market.
