illycaffè is an Italian family-owned company founded in Trieste in 1933, which has always pursued the mission of offering the best coffee in the world. Everything that is ‘made in illy’ is enriched with beauty and art. For the ITS Fashion@Work by illy Award, ten finalists were selected by illycaffè Art Director Carlo Bach for a radical re-design of their barista aprons. When developing their apron proposal they were required to make them wearable, to include pockets and a bib in a 60cm x 80cm apron including an adjustable neck strap. At the same time they were entirely free in terms of material without necessarily making it functional. The award will grant the winner €10,000.
