The irresponsibility of man has left many scars on our planet. When we see the mutations caused bythe Chernobyl nuclear reactor, we witness how the effects of negligence can become long-lasting. We’d be tempted to name the afflicted offspring malformed, however these mutations are an evidence of nature’s innate ability to prevail. As our tainted planet fights to heal itself, the boundary between industry products and nature will blur evermore. Corrina’s collection literally consists of “fossils from the future”, depicting the throw-away era. Her “Semi-Slugs” are previews of life forms to come, possibly even among those that will succeed us.
ITS Sustainability Award
Corrina sent a very powerful message about sustainability in her concept: a jewellery collection coming from a possible future when all our irresponsability manifests itself through fossils depicting our current garbage era. Such a visually powerful message - questioning a future when industry products and nature might be forced to blur more andm ore - was combined with upcycling and a refined aesthetics.
Special Mention by Vogue Talents
Corrina had the vision to develop a collection from human kind's irresponsability towards the planet. It is a very positive and doable project, art pieces that can be worn but also collected as special objects without forgetting craftsmanship.
